Residential Life
Resident Handbook - having guests over and rules of entry
This time we invite you to explore the Resident Handbook, and in particular, to dive into the chapter "Rules of entry and guests" on page 34. This chapter holds information that will empower you to create a secure, comfortable, and inviting environment for yourself and your fellow residents.
A Foundation of Safety and Security
At Intercollegiate Halls, your safety and security are paramount. The chapter "Rules of entry and guests" outlines the guidelines and procedures for entering and exiting the premises. By understanding these rules, you contribute to maintaining a safe environment for everyone. From signing in guests to adhering to entry procedures, you play an active role in upholding the security measures that keep our community protected.
Welcoming Your Guests
One of the joys of living in a residence hall is the opportunity to share your space with friends. The chapter "Rules of entry and guests" not only informs you about signing in your guests but also provides you with insights on ensuring their visit is enjoyable and respectful. By being mindful of noise levels, hosting etiquette, and the wellbeing of fellow residents, you help create a warm and inviting atmosphere for all.
As a quick reminder:
You are allowed to have three Day Guests at any time. Your guests must be signed in, and collected from reception by you and you must always be with them when in the halls. Day guests must leave the hall by 23:00
You are also allowed an overnight guest for up to 10 nights a month (not necessarily consecutive). As with the day guests, your overnight guests must be signed in and be with you at all times.
Empower Your Experience: The Resident Handbook
The Resident Handbook is more than just a set of rules – it's a tool that empowers you to take an active role in creating a positive and secure living environment. By reading and understanding the chapter "Rules of entry and guests" you're ensuring that your interactions and actions align with the values of respect, consideration, and community.
A Legacy of Caring
Your participation in adhering to the entry and guest guidelines extends beyond your own experience – it contributes to the collective wellbeing of everyone at Intercollegiate Halls. Your thoughtfulness and adherence to these rules create a legacy of caring for the safety, security, and comfort of your fellow residents.
Embrace Responsibility: Read, Learn, and Thrive
As you immerse yourself in this new chapter of your life, we encourage you to explore other pages of the Resident Handbook. By understanding and embracing the guidelines outlined in the Handbook you're not only contributing to the welcoming spirit of our community but also ensuring that Intercollegiate Halls remains a safe and inviting home for all.
