Life In London

UK's most Instagrammable beaches

By bzellie 10 May 2020

Seeing as we may not be able to jet off abroad this year, there are still some amazing spots in the UK that will give you that holiday feeling...

We have plenty of amazing beaches, so hop in the car and venture out and see what they have to offer!

Whether you just want to soak up the sun or would prefer a hiking adventure, we know the places where you'll get the best pictures to post all over Instagram to make your mates jealous (just remember to stick to the social distancing rules)

Brighton Beach
You won't be able to build a sandcastle but you will be able to sit on a deck chair on the pebbled beach and take in the rays. In the summer months, there tends to be plenty going on and it can get pretty busy. Brighton is in the top 10 city breaks in the world so, go and see what all the fuss is about!

Towan Beach, Newquay
Now, this sets the standards for all beaches in the UK! Newquay can be quite difficult to get to but is definitely worth a visit. Whether you lounge around in the sun, attempt some surfing or just go for the occasional swim, you're guaranteed to get some amazing pictures to post all over your Instagram feed and story.

Weymouth Beach
Have you been to Dorset before? If not, now is the time to go and explore because it's got this little gem. It's a perfect beach to walk alongside with some fish and chips to really get in the British summer spirit! This is a perfect place to take a dog.

Bournemouth Beach
The weather is usually great down here so you can't really get it wrong unless we get any more unannounced snow! Take a ball so you can enjoy a game of volleyball with your household whilst you're there. One thing that gives Bournemouth an extra quirk (and a perfect photo opportunity) is the colourful huts that run alongside the beach - very cute.

If you'd prefer a scenic beach that you'll find along a walking route, there are a couple of gems that we'd recommend. Time to pull out the walking boots!

Heddons Mouth
This is buried amongst the Heddon Valley National Trust site so after you've walked for quite a while, it's nice to rest by the water. It's a perfect place to go for some exercise and then you can have your lunch and chill before thinking about the walk back...

Walmer Beach
Kent is a great place to spend a summers day because there is lots for you to do during your time there, one of them being Walmer Beach! It's easily one of the most photogenic beaches on the list and has a cycle path alongside it too - either way, you won't be bored and might get some exercise done too.

Wherever you choose to go, take in the sights and explore the city/town and make a day of it. The UK has more to offer than you realise!
