Where can I buy shampoo?

By Konrad 27 Aug 2019

If you're one of those people who needs to be able to choose one bottle of shampoo from hundreds of options then you need to read the book "The Paradox of Choice" by Barry Schwartz.

But before you do it, let's get you to the right place!

There are two major store chains in the UK that offer a wide range of cosmetics and other personal care items: Boots and Superdrug. They will probably have that one, perfect shampoo and conditioner for you. Superdrug offers a 10% student discount and at the time of writing Boots offers one too (however this is a limited offer until the end of August, let's see if they extend it).

If you're less fussed by these products, you can always pick them up when you're shopping for food in your local supermarket.

Boots and Superdrug will often have pharmacy counters where you can take a prescription from a doctor, as well as you can buy "over the counter" drugs (the ones that you don't need a prescription for, such as paracetamol or anti-allergy tablets).

You do have other options in the category. Poundland and Savers are the two more prominent ones and they're normally much cheaper than their competitors. You can guess how much things cost in a Poundland store. Savers will offer cheap products and a lot more choice than a Poundland.

But remember, don't just take our word for it - go and explore it yourself!

We're just here to get you started.
