Your own project could make a real difference in your Hall

Applications for the UoL Hall Ambassador programme will open on 28th September. Frequently Asked Questions about the programme  are below. 

What is a Hall Ambassador?

An ambassador is a student who is leading a project in their Hall that falls under one of five project areas:

🌱Sustainability

💚 Health, Wellbeing and Fitness

🫂 Inclusion

🫶 Culture

🍅 Catering and Food

What are the benefits of becoming an ambassador?

- You'll get a guaranteed place in Halls next year (as long as you successfully complete your project).

- A certificate and reference for your CV

- Access to training courses such as Mental Health First Aid™️

- Access to funding for your project

- Experience of designing and delivering an impactful project

- Dedicated, ongoing staff support

What are the requirements?

An estimated timeline for the role is as follows:

The initial ambassador briefing will be held in the week of 2nd November 2026 and role specific training will be delivered throughout November. Training is a minimum of two hours, but you can opt-in to Mental Health First Aid training, which is an additional 16 hours across 2 days.

Project planning and development will begin in December, at which point you will agree upon your project output indicators. Project delivery will be from Mid-January to May 2027. 

You will be asked to submit reflections or present your project from June-August 2027.

Communication expectations

Responding to emails from their staff mentor within four working days.

Keeping mentors updated on project progress.

Attending agreed meetings and training sessions.

Keeping in touch will be a mix of both in-person and online.

Who can apply to be an ambassador?

Any student living in a UoL Hall can apply. You should be passionate about the project area you are submitting a proposal to.

From 28th September, you will be able to apply by submitting your project proposal here. The closing date for applications will be 8am on Monday 26th October 2026.
