Everything you need to know about living in Garden Halls

Garden Halls is a contemporary, landmark-surrounded hall accommodating over 1,200 students! Located in the historic heart of Bloomsbury, it's just a short walk away from King's Cross and St. Pancras stations. The halls offer a mix of catered and self-catered rooms featuring outstanding communal facilities.

To ensure you feel secure, Garden Halls offers a 24/7 reception and security teams to maintain a safe environment. There is also an on-site Warden Team and Hall Management to support your residential experience.

You will also have access to a private fridge, hob, combination microwave and oven, kitchen sink and fire blanket.

Depending on your room package, your communal facilities will feature:

Catered: Fridge, kettle, microwave, and food preparation sink.
Self-catered: Full fridge-freezer, hobs, oven, extractor fan, microwave, kettle and dining table.

In my accommodation

Your room already comes with a mattress, but you are responsible for providing your own bedding:

Duvet
Pillows
Sheets
Pillowcases

If you are travelling light or arriving from overseas, you can order bedding packs online in advance to halls before your arrival.

If you are a catered resident, you don't need to worry about cooking big meals! Your accommodation fees include daily catering in the main dining hall:

Weekdays: Breakfast and dinner provided daily
Weekends: Enjoy a relaxed brunch and dinner

If you are a self-catered resident, you can purchase meals in the canteen and cook your own meals in your flat.

You can wash and dry your clothes using the on-site laundry room located within the building. The laundry room is filled with modern washing machines and tumble dryers.

To use the machines, please download the Washstation app on your phone to create an account, here is where you will add credit to your account.

Garden Halls provides high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building via Glide Resident.

Before connecting, you will need to create a Glide account using your preferred username and password.

We also recommend downloading the Glide app, where you can:

Access 24-hour customer support
Find connection guidance

Letters and small mail items are sorted into secure mailboxes accessible near the main reception area. For larger parcels, the hall reception team will accept deliveries on your behalf and log them into the system.

You will receive an automated email from your Hall Team when your parcel arrives, which you can collect from the 24/7 reception desk. (You will need to show your student ID card to collect your items.)
