A THRIVE Event

It's our first THRIVE Lunch Stop Spot of the term! This is a drop-in event in Study @ Bloom, where you'll be able to stop by for a few minutes out of your lunch time for a new event or activity!

This week we're giving you away to capture your UoL memories the old fashioned way. Come and Pick Up a Disposable Camera from us. There's no catch, that's literally it. We want to encourage you to not only remember your time with us, but we also want you to live in the moment more. So, strike a pose!

All THRIVE events and activities are set up to align with the PERMA model of positive psychology and are designed to meet at least TWO of the model's five core elements of wellbeing: Positive Emotions; Engagement; Relationships; Meaning; and Accomplishment.

Here's how this activity meets the model:

ENGAGEMENT

When it comes to disposable cameras, you've only got one shot to get that photo. So, don't be too snap happy. Be intentional and thoughtful about how you want to capture this moment in time. This doesn't mean that you can't be spontaneous, but do take this as a chance to slow down.

RELATIONSHIPS

There's nothing quite like taking a photo of your nearest and dearest. Whether they accidentally blink as you're hitting the shutter, or are perfectly posed, you'll be able to freeze them in time and look back fondly. You may even choose to send the photos to love ones once they're printed, sharing your point of view and bringing even the furthest away friends and family members closer to you.

MEANING

Like we said, this is a chance to slow down. So, take stock. When you're taking that photo, you're given the unique opportunity to be selective about what you're capturing. We hope that it'll remind you what matters most to you, and that's why you're taking that photo.

Where? At the end of Study @ Bloom, Senate House

When? Thursday 8th October, from 12pm until 2pm - or until we run out of cameras!
