Our affirmation and commitment to all our TNB residents

The University of London Intercollegiate Halls are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all students, including those who identify as transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, agender, gender-fluid, or any other gender identity. We also acknowledge the existence of culturally specific gender identities and expressions globally, and we commit to supporting and including all individuals on their own terms. This commitment aligns with the broader University mission to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of university life.

We recognise the diversity and complexity of experiences within the trans and non-binary (TNB) community and are dedicated to ensuring that all students, regardless of their gender identity or expression, feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Our approach centres on respect, confidentiality, and the person-centred needs of each student.

This is why we are excited to announce our Trans Student Affirmation and Guidance, where we make 11 public commitments to respect and support all our TNB residents in the halls, and provide detailed guidance to TNB residents about how to access the resources available. This is an interim document, and we want to engage further with TNB residents living in halls for 2024-25 to co-produce the next version.
