Everything you need to know about living in Handel Mansions

Handel Mansions is a charming, historic building filled with 24 flats over 6 floors. Centrally located on Handel Street in Bloomsbury, it's tailored specifically for post-graduate students who require a 50-week contract.

The flats feature 2-4 bedrooms with shared facilities. While you enjoy an independent setup - meaning you will have to clean and take care of your own bathrooms and kitchens, there'll be no staffed reception and no common room - you are fully backed by the University of London's supportive management and warden team.

Each flat features a spacious kitchen and bathroom shared only with your flatmates.

The kitchen: Equipped with a cooker, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge-freezer, and personal cupboard space.
The bathroom: Features a toilet, sink, mirror, bathtub with a shower curtain, and a heated towel rack.

The Brunswick Centre is just a 2-minute walk away and offers excellent homeware shopping options.

Cooking utensils

Because you share the kitchen with only 1 to 3 flatmates, it's highly recommended to wait until you arrive to split the cost of shared items like pots and pans.

One of the best perks of Handel Mansions is that every flat has its own washing machine and tumble dryer directly inside the kitchen. You do not need to walk to a communal laundry room or pay via an app; you can do your laundry for free right inside your flat.

Handel Mansions provides high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building via Glide Resident.

Before connecting, you will need to create a Glide account using your preferred username and password.

Please note that this historic building does not have an elevator, and room location is not provided before in advance of arrival on the 13th September 2026.

Standard mail is delivered straight to the property, to your relevant flat. You can also use the many parcel lockers around the Brunswick Centre.

The British Library and Senate House Library are both within easy walking distance, alongside some local museums and cafes for a perfect solo date!

Russell Square (Piccadilly Line) is a 5-minute walk away, while King's Cross St Pancras is roughly 10 minutes on foot, connecting you to 6 underground lines and national rails.

The Brunswick Centre is a 2-minute walk from your front door and features a massive Waitrose (ALDI price matches) and a Sainsbury's Local.
