A THRIVE Event
Make a cosy, felt friend for you or a loved one and join us to sew a soft toy! Freestyle it or use one of the templates provided, we've got everything you need, but do feel free to bring material if you want to upcycle it!
All THRIVE events and activities are set up to align with the PERMA model of positive psychology and are designed to meet at least TWO of the model's five core elements of wellbeing: Positive Emotions; Engagement; Relationships; Meaning; and Accomplishment.
Here's how this activity meets the model:
ENGAGEMENT
Take yourself away from the stress of the day by engaging with a creative project. There's no need to think about anything else, just make whatever you want to make. There's absolutely nothing else you need to do. Just make something, anything.
RELATIONSHIPS
Whether you choose to chat or not, being in a shared space and focusing on the same task can create a feeling of community. Embracing community can help combat loneliness, bring people closer together, and create a feeling of safety.
ACCOMPLISHMENT
You'll be able to walk away knowing that you put the time and effort into making something! Doesn't matter if it's "perfect" or even finished. You did it yourself, and for that you should be proud.
