Updates from your hall feedback

Residents at Connaught Hall told us they wanted clearer communication, more inclusive events, and better information in shared spaces. Your feedback gave us a clearer picture of what would improve everyday life in halls and help residents feel more informed and included.

Here are some of the actions we’ve taken in response to what you told us.

You said: Clearer updates when repairs were taking longer than expected

Our action: A more structured maintenance communication process

A more structured communication process is now in place for ongoing maintenance, so residents are kept better informed when repairs take longer than expected.

You said: More LGBTQ+ events

Our action: A programme of events for LGBTQ+ History Month + beyond

We ran a programme of events for LGBTQ+ History Month in February, and we also have a summer Pride celebration planned. Keep an eye on the events page for more information.

You said: A wider range of cultural celebrations

Our action: A programme of events for LGBTQ+ History Month + beyond

So far this year, we've run events celebrating Lunar New Year, Lantern Festival and Eid. We've also invited all of our students to suggest further events for the months ahead.

You said: More information on shared food preparation areas

Our action: Clearer signage and updated communications

Signage and communications are being updated, with consistent language agreed across all official materials, so expectations are clearer for everyone using shared food prep spaces.

Thank you to everyone at Connaught Hall who took the time to complete the survey. Your feedback has already helped shape a number of changes, with more still being worked on.

We’ll continue to listen, review and act where we can, and we encourage you to keep sharing your views in future surveys.
