Arrivals Day at University of London

Everything you need to feel at home from day one

Moving in can feel like a big step, especially if you’re new to London, new to the UK, or living away from home for the first time. The good news is you’ll have plenty of support around you from day one, plus lots of little touches designed to help you settle in at your own pace.

One of the biggest benefits of arriving on the official Arrivals Day is that there’s a whole team on hand to welcome you as you get here, help with luggage, answer any questions, and show you around your new home.

Support from day one

  • Reception teams and staff can help with directions and any quick questions
  • Resident Assistants (RAs) are easy to spot in burgundy hoodies, and can help you find your room, explain keycards, and introduce you to others on your floor
  • Wellbeing and health support contacts are also available if you need a steer

A lot of students feel nervous on their first day, which is totally normal. You’re not expected to know everything straight away. If things feel a bit overwhelming, we provide a quiet space you can use to take a breather, chill out, and reset.

From green spaces to campaigns that encourage understanding across cultures and languages, halls are set up to help people feel welcome and connected.

If you're coming to the University of London, events are a great way to meet new people. Check out our events page for all the latest events in halls.
